Just listened to the fabulous John Martyn- ZZolid Air indeed! I dipped in and out on the waves of John's voice( not your Dad's) and remembered how intoxicating it was. I'm prepared to give the Chile blend the same attention, though I'm not a red drinker!
Well, after listening to that music, I can see myself drinking a Chilean Bordeaux Blend, sadly, I only have French right now. Saw your post about not missing writing all the tasting notes for Bordeaux En Primer. Cannot fathom how one does it. Glad I stumbled upon your blog...I love music and drinking wine! Cheers!
French will still do the trick! Yes the tastings and subsequent note writing can be quite gruelling (though you don’t get much sympathy from family and friends!) likewise, glad you found us and stick around for some more wine and music writing!
I think Solid Air would be one of my desert island discs. As you say, such a brilliant fusion of folk, jazz and blues. I had the privilege of seeing John Martyn live twice, at the beginning and end of his career - and I think I might well have polished off a bottle of Chilean Bordeaux blend on a Friday night whilst listening to this iconic album. Or maybe I just imagined it!
It’d have to be one of my choices too, little bit of everything on that album. Haha perhaps you did, it’s probably worth rejogging your memory sometime soon!
Love this, such a brilliant concept for a blog. Looking forward to trying this pairing out later this week. Cheers!
Glad you approve and hope the pairing works just as well for you too!

Haha! His voice is like the whole ensemble in one, very intoxicating indeed

Anyway, thank you for a lovely post.

Such a fan of that record! I love this pairing suggestion.
Such a great album - I’m glad you like the sound of the pairing too!
